Since 2009, Harlemite DZA has built a steady buzz on the NY scene, releasing a slew of acclaimed mixtapes and albums, earning his place alongside some of the biggest names in the game. Frequent DZA collaborators Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Lex Luger, Big K.R.I.T, Bun B, Devin the Dude and Dom Kennedy are just a handful of his peers, who together now sit at the forefront of Rap’s ‘new wave’.
His A$AP Rocky assisted ‘4 Loko’ video has racked up close to 1.5m Youtube views, and through the ongoing support from heavyweight media like Pitchfork, The Fader and Complex, DZA’s online stardom has reached celebrity status. In June, Smoke DZA released Rugby Thompson, arguably his biggest breakthrough so far. The album, released through High Times Records, is a collaboration with French Montana/RiFF RaFF super-producer Harry Fraud, and features Curren$y (who also recently signed DZA to his Jet Life Recordings imprint), Action Bronson, Domo Genesis (OFWGKTA), Schoolboy Q and loads more.
And to guarantee that this isn’t your standard Rap show, Astral People have joined forces with the crew behind Sydney’s beloved night Halfway Crooks, who alongside DZA will keep the crowd turnt-up till the smoke clears.
