Astral People present the debut performance of UK Garage and bassline don, DJ Q at The Civic Underground in June.
After our most outrageous party to date with DJ EZ in 2013, Astral People are excited to bring back the ruckus with legendary BBC radio host and UK Garage producer DJ Q.
As one of the leading Garage DJs and producers in the UK, Q was best known for his stint on BBC 1Xtra where he (as the youngest DJ at the station) held down a weekly show with guest slots for Annie Mac, Mary Anne Hobbs and Pete Tong’s Essential Mix. With a string of legendary singles including ‘Love Like This’, ‘Teabag’ and the severe ‘You Wot!’ his recent output continues to shine with a series of EP’s on his own Q Records and Local Action, (including the instant sell-out ‘Brandy & Coke’). Having been called to remix the likes of Amy Winehouse, Dizzee Rascal, Katy B and Shola Ama, this tour will not only celebrate those particular accolades but also the release of his debut album “Ineffable” which dropped this year.
Behind the decks DJ Q is as much a beast as he is on the buttons, known for a floor-shaking mix of Bassline, Garage, Speed House and every other mutation of the beloved sound you can imagine. If last years throwdown was anything to go by, this is not something you will want to miss.
