Bicep have unveiled their ambitious new project, CHROMA. Representing a significant evolution for the duo, CHROMA combines a record label, a series of curated events, a brand new and constantly evolving AV / DJ show, and a unique visual identity created in collaboration with David Rudnick and his Terrain studio.

The releases on CHROMA — which will all feature Ferguson & McBriar in some form — were formulated with an ethos to cover everything “from Acid to Alkaline”, and the idea behind the label is twofold: as both a home for their own more underground club focused productions, and also a platform to share their wider music styles. “We’ve increasingly wanted to show a more rounded picture of what we do in the studio,” they explain. “We do a lot of more heavy techno focused music, ambient and various other styles that don't really fit into the “BICEP” sound, and which often never sees the light of day.” As such, fans can expect a wider musical palette and range of BPMs, and there will be a number of collaborations and music released under aliases, each with their own distinct sound and visual identity. “We want to use CHROMA to push our sounds and challenge people more than we probably have in the past,” they continue. “The label is designed to evolve and draw on inspiration constantly, both musically and aesthetically. We’re wanting to essentially create a world that’s an up to date representation of us both personally in terms of our evolving tastes.”

BICEP present CHROMA AV / DJ is the new show which continues the visual collaboration with Zak Norman / Black Box Echo. This audio-visual show will combine new music as well as highlights from the band’s back catalogue. Following the successful debut with headline shows at Manchester’s Warehouse Project and London’s Drumsheds sold out (12k), the duo will also be performing headline shows at Brighton Beach and London’s Finsbury Park later this year, with CHROMA AV / DJ festival appearances at Coachella, Snowbombing, Forbidden Fruit and Boardmasters among many others already confirmed.

Hailed by the BBC as “one of the biggest names in UK dance”, Bicep continue to cement themselves as one of the defining global electronic acts of our times. In 2022, almost 1 million people had the chance to see Bicep play live, including headline performances at Glastonbury – where they closed the festival’s second biggest stage in front of 35k people – and their biggest UK Live shows to date with two back-to-back performances at London’s 10k capacity Alexandra Palace — both of which sold out in just 5 minutes — a headline arena tour throughout Europe including Zenith Paris, Lotto Arena Antwerp and UFO Velodrom Berlin and a run of high-profile festival and headline shows across North America which included Primavera LA and Portola festival in San Francisco, as well as a sold-out tour of Australia including stops in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Bicep released their hotly anticipated second album, ‘Isles’, in January 2021, which debuted at #2 on the UK Official Albums Chart and #1 on the UK Official Vinyl Albums Chart, earning the duo 2x BRITs nominations in the process.
