Action Bronson, the breakout Chef-come-Rapper sensation sweeping across the hip-hop underground, is set to make his first ever tour to Australia this Summer, proudly presented by Sydney management and tour group Astral People.

Born in Queens, New York, Action Bronson developed a passion for food at a young age, around the same time as his taken interest for east-coast Hip Hop. Taking his name from famous Chicago gangster William “Action” Jackson and actor Charles Bronson, his music and lyrical capability ooze a razor-sharp sophistication largely unseen in today’s hip-hop climate. Slicing rhymes like only a fully-trained chef could, Bronson himself said: “No one raps about food like I do. I rap about fine dishes, like all kinds of things that only real chefs and real foodies are going to know about.

In 2010, he released a mix-tape entitled Bon Appetit….Bitch!!!! to prove himself beyond a joke act, gaining attention and respect for his romanticized yet still fragrant lyrical capabilitiesReleasing his debut EP only last year, as well as a joint album with NY’s famed DJ Statik Selectah, in 2012 Bronson self-released his debut album ‘Dr. Lecter’ to acclaim from as many major publications as underground tastemakers. A foray into wishful-gangster fantasies, it’s fun/dirty lyrical style and worldly production (taking cues from Jazz, Swing and RnB) was widely considered as one of the freshest hip hop records of the year (with many believing it to be recorded ten years earlier).

Facing constant comparisons to Ghostface Killah, Nasty Nas & Raekwon whilst receiving support from some of Hip Hop’s biggest names, Action Bronson is the likeable persona whose name is set only to escalate. Touring Australia for the very first time since his meteoric rise to fame, expect one of the most enigmatic (if only) chef/rappers in the game to provide one of 2012’s freshest hip hop experience.
