Today total Tommy continues her ascent with the release of second single and video ‘Losing Out’.

‘Losing Out’ once again demonstrates total tommy’s incisive ability for crafting songs that feel both intimate and monumental at the same time. Blending indie rock with lo-fi bedroom sensibilites, ‘Losing Out’ channels the likes of The Breeders, Soccer Mommy and Yo La Tengo with its dynamic songwriting and bursting-at-the-seams sense of emotionally-charged, hushed loudness. Crackling with passion and atmosphere, the track is a slow-burning storm, carried by a low-slung bass riff, whispery, half-sung vocals and chiming guitars before cracking open for a stirring chorus as a wall of guitars and clamorous drums roil and clap like thunderclouds behind her.

Of the new single, she shares: "Someone I respected completely broke my trust and left me paralysed for a little while. I spent a lot of time going through the motions and feeling really thrashed about. I’d delayed writing about this time for a few months, but as soon as I started everything was super visceral and the lyrics formed in about fifteen minutes.
