LISTEN TO 'LA FIESTA'
Today, Melbourne-based artist Jalmar shares his newest single, 'La Fiesta' teaming up with Western Sydney rapper, Jaecy and out via The Orchard. Arriving from Director Zain Ayub, Animator Samantha Hughes and The Preative on production is also an accompanying visualiser, dancing with the track as vivid scenes see Jalmar and Jaecy join a festive dinner party of other-worldy proportions.
Hot in the wake of his official debut anthem, 'Mijo Rico' and its accompanying video, Jalmar and trusted producer, Younique exquisitely fuse a trap-derived beat with exuberant Latin trumpet overlays on 'La Fiesta'. Rapping over the hyper energy-infused bounce, Jalmar’s tight verses reaffirm his talent with a head-turning presence, before unleashing a stunningly smooth singing voice in the chorus. A guest verse from Bankstown via Guinea, West Africa’s Jaecy adds a juxtaposing cooled flavour of confidence, working in perfect unison with each innovation to the track and solidifying Jalmar’s unique sonic identity ahead of the game.
Jalmar says of the track: "Originally, Younique created 'La Fiesta' from a trap drum beat he was using for another track. After I heard the trap drums, I was mad hyped so I told him to add Latin trumpets over the top. I laid all the melodies of the track in a couple takes so the basics were down. The next day we were flying to Sydney for a label meeting which was the biggest thing that was happening for us at the time. I wrote the majority of the track on the plane trip up cause I was on such a high from it all. After having the whole track done, I was hesitant about adding a feature as I've come across a lot of big egos in the scene... but then I was fortunate enough to have Jaecy come onto the track, whom I'm a big fan of. There's a dope contrast between Jaecy and my vocals, plus it's something I haven't heard in the Australian scene and I love giving people the unexpected 🙏🏻"
As the effervescent presence of Jalmar returns with a visual psychedelic party to match, make plenty of space to experience “La Fiesta” today.
