Astral People, one of Australia's most influential independent music companies, is seeking a Finance Manager / Business Manager to join our growing team. We are an Artist Management and International Touring company with a publishing and recording label arm, known for our eclectic taste and multi-faceted approach to the music industry. We're looking for an expert in accounting and business management to work with the team in our Sydney office. This role will be 4 days a week with potential for moving to 5 days down the line.

About the Role As a Business Manager, you will report directly to the company Directors and General Managers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly/quarterly financial and management reports
- Preparing annual financial accounts and liaising with external Accountants
- Managing and taking ultimate responsibility for the Finance ERP system
- Overseeing day-to-day financial operations such as payroll, invoicing, and bookkeeping
- Liasing with external Accountants regarding Income Tax and Business Activity Statement matters and various other issues
- Providing financial and analytical support to directors and the wider team
- Guiding and coaching directors and department General Managers to enhance financial literacy
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring financial systems, procedures, and internal controls
- Supporting directors and General Managers with budgets, P&Ls, spending, reporting, and financial accountability
- Performing analysis to provide performance insights that aid growth and resource allocation
- Developing strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
- Advising General Managers on all grant applications across the business
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications (particularly Excel and Word) and Xero
- Over 3 years of experience in an accounting environment
- CA/CPA part qualified
- Systems aptitude (experience with SAP is advantageous)
- Quick learner with strong learning agility
- In-depth knowledge of accounting theory, terminology, and journal entries
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Proactive with strong ownership of responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage time and meet deadlines
