Seven Davis Jr. has earned a cult-following worldwide through his unsurpassed ability to create powerfully uniting music that transcends particular scenes, genres and time periods. In the last two years alone, the LA-based musician has signed with industry heavyweight Ninja Tune, produced high-profile remixes for the likes of Mos Def and Four Tet, collaborated with house royalty Julio Bashmore and released his much-anticipated debut album Universes. Seven Davis Jr.’s success lies in the compelling ethereality of his sound. The Texan native blends electrifying Prince-like vocals, underground house, soul and funk grooves, and inclusive cosmic ideologies to create an intergalactic music experience like no other.

Seven Davis Jr. spent years quietly perfecting his production skills ghostwriting, before prominent London-based beat maker Kutmah released his first official track ‘Thanks’ as part of the illustrious Worldwide Family compilation series. From that moment on, Seven Davis Jr.’s popularity skyrocketed with astral proportions. A string of releases, including the highly acclaimed disco-house masterpiece ‘One’, have continued to expand his fan base and further his exploration into different musical realms. Seven Davis Jr.’s musical journey culminated this year with the release of his debut album Universes, which has been met by critical acclaim worldwide, being described by the influential Clash Music as “spiritual soul food reminiscent of both George Clinton and house legend Derrick Carter”. The freshly released LP highlights his impressive command over the technicalities of production, blending elements of funk and house to create a distinctive futuristic sound that beams with positivity and intelligence. After countless festival slots around the US, the UK and Europe, the LA-based innovator will finally bring his immersive live performance to Australia & New Zealand this summer.

Seven Davis Jr.’s upcoming tour marks his return to Australian soil since touring our shores for international tastemaker Red Bull Music Academy in 2014, and is definitely not one to be missed. Immerse yourself in his interstellar live performance at Let Them Eat Cake Festival and a string of sideshows around the country.
