Cashmere Cat (NOR)
November 2017

Globally acclaimed, electronic all-star Cashmere Cat today announces he’ll be visiting Australian shores this November, for a national headline tour presented by Astral People & Handsome Tours.

Following his debut album 9, which was released earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated, genre-slicing artist will be bringing his eclectic, left-field live show to select capital cities in Australia. Kicking off in Sydney, on November 23 at the Metro Theatre, Cashmere Cat will head north to Brisbane’s The Flying Cock on November 24. Next he’ll head to Canberra to perform at Spilt Milk Festival on November 25, before heading to Melbourne’s Howler on November 29. The tour will wrap in Adelaide on December 1 at the Fat Controller.

Hailing from Norway, the now LA-based Cashmere Cat otherwise known as Magnus August Høiberg, has been warping the boundaries of electronic music since emerging in 2012 with debut EP Mirror Maru. The EP’s combination of crunching synthesisers and off-kilter R&B quickly cemented Høiberg’s sound. Lending Soundcloud remix treatment to the likes of Jeremih and 2 Chainz, Høiberg caught the attention of LA super-producer & mentor Benny Blanco. Together with Blanco, Høiberg went on to collaborate with numerous pop heavyweights including Tinashe, Charli XCX, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Wiz Khalifa and Ludacris. Høiberg has even lent his craft to Yeezy himself, co-producing “Wolves” from Kanye West’s 2016 LP Life of Pablo. Høiberg humbly commenting, “I’m the biggest Kanye fan in the world, and when they premiered ‘Wolves’, it was one of the most exciting days of my life.”

In April this year, Høiberg released his highly anticipated debut album 9 – a long-in-the-works masterpiece, arriving via Mad Love Records and Interscope. As expected, the album features an impressive list of talent including Tory Lanez, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ty Dolla $ign, Francis and the Lights, Kehlani, MØ and Jhené Aiko.

Cashmere Cat is currently in the middle of a mammoth world tour visiting North America, Europe and the UK, before making his way to Australia for a highly awaited return, supported by Nina Las Vegas across the country. With millions of online streams, a prolific resume of remarkable talents and a critically acclaimed album now under his belt, do not miss your chance to see this once in a decade producer.
