Big Boi (USA)
March 2018

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist, Big Boi today reveals his tremendously anticipated return to Australia for two dynamic headline performances in March. Presented by Astral People, Handsome Tours, Complex, FBi Radio & Triple R, the Atlanta-born rapper, producer, songwriter and one half of Outkast, will visit Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Tuesday March 13, and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Wednesday March 14, bringing his illustrious and internationally renowned catalogue to Australian fans.

One of history’s greatest rhyme mavericks, Big Boi’s indelible influence remains unwavered across two generations of rap music. The musician released his third full-length solo album, BOOMIVERSE earlier this year, seeing singles like “In The South” with Gucci Mane & Pimp C, “Mic Jack” featuring Adam Levine, “Kill Jill” featuring Killer Mike & Jeezy, and “Chocolate” featuring Trozé resonate with media and fans worldwide.

Big Boi’s first 2010 solo record, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, bowed at #3 on the US charts and received unanimous critical acclaim with Pitchfork proclaiming it one of the “100 Best Albums of the Decade So Far'” and topping year-end lists from the likes of Time Magazine and Paste. His 2012 follow-up Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors enamoured tastemakers and fans alike and featured collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Killer Mike, Kid Cudi, and more. In 2015, Big Boi collaborated with Phantogram to create supergroup Big Grams, releasing a widely acclaimed self-titled debut album. As one-half of Outkast, Big Boi has achieved over 25 million album sales for a string of music’s most influential works, including Aquemini, Stankonia, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below – the latter making the duo the first and only hip-hop artist in history to win the Grammy for “Album of the Year”.

As one of hip-hop’s greatest phenomenons, with a long-running legacy for continually shifting the face of rap and hip-hop, make sure to witness Big Boi’s visit in March for his most intimate Australian tour yet. To sign up for exclusive access to pre-sale tickets visit www.handsometours.com
